Welcome to a new experiment for me. I have journaled my thoughts off and on for some time, actually since high school. Those were private postings on the world around me and my place in it. Usually those thoughts were of a personal and therefore not necessarily public nature. As I look around me at the world today I find myself increasingly in need of a method to express my thoughts and feelings about things which do not fall into the category of my daily life but nonetheless have a profound impact on either how I or the folks around me feel, think, and interact with one another.
I have always looked at the political world around me with interest and a certain reserve as the nature of politics has always been a rude, rough and mean sport played by those with either an axe to grind or an interest to defend. I am coming increasingly to understand that it is time for the middle to raise its voice of reason and ask that we return our general political discussion to a civil exchange where we all need not agree with one another but do respect the differences in our opinions. I launch this new expresion in that spirit.
